Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The Financial Services Authority was created by the incoming UK Labor Government in 1997 as the regulatory body for the whole financial services industry. A number of separate regulatory bodies were brought together into the FSA. The FSA also took over the responsibilities that the Bank of England had for supervising banks and other financial institutions.
